What occurs when two people love each other but simply are not supposed to be together? Takaki Toono and Akari Shinohara are childhood buddies, but conditions outside their control rip them apart. They promise to remain in touch, and even though the progression of period widens the space between these, the chain of memories remains marginal.Byousoku 5 Centimeter is a romantic drama which focuses on the boring and unpleasant fact of long-distance connections. Stuck in the past and not able to create any new memories, Takaki and Akari cling to the hope of seeing each other again.
