Iruma Michio, a devil may care unorthodox judge in the District Court of Tokyo’s very first criminal court. He was once an attorney and was involved in a matter that led to his transition to judge. Iruma is the only judge who personally examines the scene of crime to avoid an injustice from happening and uncover the truth. Even though his style of conduct is different from that of a judge who is a bit pompous He is distrusted by lawyers and prosecutor’s because he’s not restricted by expectations, prejudices, or obligations and has an enquiring mind that delve into cases with a thoroughness. However Judge Sakama Chizuru is the exact contrary of the judge Iruma. She is a student at Tokyo University’s Faculty of Law, she is a top among the elite. She was transferred to the court that is the first to be reformed due to the staggeringly small number of cases that have been closed. This is equivalent to being a business in financial trouble that is close to becoming into bankruptcy. As an individual who is very proud of keeping the public safe through the handling of cases in a timely manner and quickly, Chizuru cannot understand Iruma’s approach, which causes her to be frustrated to the point of tears. But, once she realizes that Iruma believes in treating cases as an individual’s personal life and not just a matter of a person’s life, she has to answer the dilemma of “What can a judge do aside from issuing a ruling?”
