Xu Yuan is a lazy but talented expert of antiquities, descendant of the infamous Xu family that betrayed their country during the war by selling the priceless head of a Tang dynasty Buddha statue to the Japanese. When Ms. Kido comes from Japan to China to return the head, she requests that a member of the Xu family assists to the ceremony.
