A lot people understand what it’s like to transition to a new college with few to no friends in a new environment, moving through the tough process of getting to know people . Bocchi Hitori understands this battle all too well, having just graduated from elementary school and chucked to middle school. Unfortunately, she suffers from intense social anxiety: she faints when overwhelmed, vomits when anxious, and pulls up ridiculously elaborate plans to avoid social contact. It doesn’t help that her only friend from elementary school, Kai Yawara, won’t be attending the exact same middle school as Bocchi. Though Bocchi does not have any faith in himself, she’s decided to be buddies with Kai again. Summoning all her courage, Bocchi takes on the daunting challenge of earning friends with her whole course, starting with all the delinquent-looking woman sitting before her.
