Yu-yu, a boy from Kanazawa in Kaga Province, is Yu-yu. He is fifteen years old and is in his third year at junior high school. Although he can sense the emotions of others, he struggles to say no when asked.Yu-yu was tired of following his sister’s hobby and decided to run away. Megumi Okura is the one who saves Yu-yu. Yu-yu is invited by Megumi to a nighttime park called Wonder Hill, where her friends hang out. Yu-yu meets Zakusa Ishikame and Tomari Seto at the amusement park. They are members of Team Blackout, a group that plays Vanguard every night.
Tonight will see a fight for the team flag. Blackout’s leader, Danji Mumoyama, will be battling Touya Ebata, a mysterious and powerful fighter. The card fight quickly becomes a world of images as Yu-yu stares at it.
