The story of King Dragon and the young maidservant is based on promises of three lives to wait for a beloved one. Liu Ying is Xia Hou Xue’s maidservant, who stumbles upon the snake. Liu Ying saves it without realizing that the snake is a millennium-old dragon known as Yuchi Longyan. To pay back their debts Yuchi Longyan offers Liu Ying to get married but the marriage is ruined by an unintentional miscommunication. Xia Hou Xue is confronted by the wolf demon. In order to fulfill Liu Ying’s desires, Yuchu Longyan promises to save Xia Hou Xue and keep her safe for three generations even while he stays at Liu Ying’s feet. It’s only in her fourth life when Liu Ying is reincarnated as Gu Qing Yan that she is able to recognize Yuchi Long Yan’s existence.
