No dream is too large for Appare Sorrano, a socially-awkward inventor residing in a tiny rural city in Japan from the late 19th century. Fascinated since childhood by the invention of steamships that could connect people across great distances, he has learned to create machines of all types from several scientific texts. His intention is to sail upon the sea, past the skies, and finally, to another side of this moon. Floating alongside him is a proficient but cowardly samurai, Kosame Ishikki, that had been tasked to maintain his bizarre behavior in check. When all hope seems lost, a huge steamship saves them takes them to Los Angeles. With no cash or strategies, they opt to take part in the”Trans-America Wild Race,” that gives Appare the opportunity to construct his own car, and Kosame the chance to utilize the money prize to return home. But against rival racers and unfamiliar challenges living in the jungle, how much will this experience take Appare and Kosame?
