Throughout history, people have been at odds with Beastmen–a species capable of changing shape because of their hereditary”Beast element.” As a result of this battle, Beastmen were forced into hiding. Anima City functions as a safe haven for all these oppressed people to live free of human interference. In a festival celebrating the city’s 10th anniversary, Michiru Kagemori, a person who suddenly become a tanuki, discovers that Anima City is a far cry from heaven. After seeing an explosion at the square, she’s faced with Shirou Ogami, a seemingly indestructible wolf and sworn guardian of Beastmen. As they chase the offenders behind the bombing, both find that Michiru isn’t anything but a normal Beastman, and seem to explore her mystical past and uncanny skills.
