Haibane Renmei anime
A young Haibane, a being with small gray wings and a halo, was born in a cocoon in Old Home. She is unable to understand the world without her memories. Rakka is her name for the dream she had of falling while in the cocoon. She soon gets used to the new town. The Haibane have strict rules, including the prohibition to leave the village and not go near its walls. These mysterious disappearances of their species on the “Day of Flight” begin to disturb Rakka and her companions, as they don’t know much about their own species.
Haibanerenmei is Rakka’s story, but also the stories of others around her as they try to forget their past and live their lives without any memories.
