Karakuri Circus anime
Narumi Katou, a middle-aged man, has the bizarre ZONAPHA syndrome. This rare and mysterious disease causes severe seizures at random. The only way to cure it is to make someone laugh. A young boy, carrying a huge suitcase, runs into Narumi while he is working part-time. After his father’s death, Masaru Saiga is introduced as the boy. But, his family members are trying to kill him and take the fortune.
Narumi, determined to save Masaru, helps him escape. She then fights the pursuers. Only to find out that they are sentient humanoid puppets of superhuman strength. Narumi is losing, when a young girl with white hair joins the fight. She quickly summons another puppet from the boy’s bag and claims to be Shirogane.
Karakuri Circus is a story about three people with different histories. Their fates diverge and intertwine as they uncover the secrets of an ancient tale about love and betrayal and the long-standing battle between puppets and humans.
