Daikichi Kawachi is a 30-year-old mentor operating a decent job but wandering aimlessly through life. After his grandfather suddenly goes off, he returns to the family house to pay his respects. Upon arriving in the home, he meets a mysterious young woman named Rin who, into Daikichi’s astonishment, is his grandfather’s adulterous daughter! The bashful and unapproachable woman is deemed an embarrassment to the family, also finds herself ostracized by her dad’s relatives, all of them begging to look after her in the aftermath of his departure. Daikichi, angered with their own coldness towards Rin, admits he will take her –in spite of the fact that he’s a young, single person without a prior childcare experience. Usagi Drop is the narrative of Daikichi’s journey through fatherhood because he increases Rin with his tender and affectionate character, in addition to an exploration of their heat and interdependence which are in the core of a joyous, family.
