About the love story between cat spirit Nie Xiao Qian and and a scholar named Ning Cai Chen.
In the late Tang and early Song Dynasties, the scholar Ning Cai Chen had no way to study. He studied in the Lanruo Temple and fell in love with the little witch Nie Xiao Qian. Xiao Qian sacrificed herself to save Ning Cai Chen.
After Ning Cai Chen escaped, he suffered a lot of pain which led to memory lost. He then meets a female teacher with similar appearance as Xiao Qian.
