Akira
An explosion brought on by a young boy with psychic abilities tears throughout the city of Tokyo and ignites the fuse which contributes to World War III. To be able to avoid any additional destruction, he’s seized and taken into custody and to not be heard from again. In the year 2019, a restored version of this city called Neo-Tokyo–a region rife with gang violence and terrorism against the present authorities –stands in its own place. Here, Shoutarou Kaneda contributes”that the Capsules,” a bunch of misfits famous for riding big, custom motorcycles and being in constant battle with their competitions”the Clowns.”
During these conflicts, Shoutarou’s best friend Tetsuo Shima is caught up in a collision with an esper who discovers himself in the streets of Tokyo after escaping confinement out of a government institution.
Through this experience, Tetsuo begins to create his own mystical abilities, as the government attempts to quarantine this hottest psychic at a desperate effort to stop him from unleashing the destructive power that may once more bring the city to its knees.
