Big Windup! Season 1 anime
Ren Mihashi was the ace on his middle school’s baseball team. However, his poor pitching meant that they couldn’t win. His constant losses led to him being bullied by his teammates and he was forced to quit trying to win. Mihashi graduated with low self-esteem. Mihashi then decides to attend a high school in another prefecture, where he doesn’t intend to play baseball. He is forced to join their team as the starting pitcher after his arrival at Nishiura High.
Although he initially is reluctant, Mihashi soon realizes that this place is one where he can be himself. With the help of Takaya Abe as his catcher, he begins to feel more confident in his abilities. Abe sees the potential in Mihashi and sets out to help him become an ace pitcher.
