Manji, a famous feudal Japanese swordsman, is also known as the “Hundred Man Killer,” because he has murdered one hundred innocent men. But his terrifying reputation is not the only thing that worries. He is also immortal. This is the handiwork of eight-hundred-year-old nun Yaobikuni, who placed bloodworms capable of healing almost any wound in Manji’s body.
Manji vows to kill one million evil men in an effort to atone for his sins. Yaobikuni accepts this offer, stating that if he succeeds, he will be able to undo his curse on immortality. Manji is soon able to meet Rin Asano (16-year-old girl) who asks Manji for his help in killing her parents.
Manji initially refuses Rin’s plea and is reluctant to do so. Due to Rin’s apparent weakness, Manji decides to change his mind and agrees that Rin will be protected for four years. The two of them embark on a dangerous journey of bloodshed and vengeance to each fulfill their respective lives’ causes.
