A second-year senior at the high school Yatora Yaguchi has become bored of his everyday life. He does well in school and loves playing with his friends however the truth is that he doesn’t take pleasure in either. He is a slave to the norms and is secretly jealous of people who are different.
This is until he realizes the pleasure of drawing. When he comes across a drawing done by a member the Art Club, Yatora becomes attracted by the colors that are employed in the painting. In a later art project, he is attempting to express his thoughts by using only painting. Following this incident, Yatora finds himself so fascinated by art that he decides it’s what he would like to be doing to earn an income. However, there are many obstacles that stand in his way such as his parents, who are hesitant about the uniqueness of his choices, more experienced colleagues and the research of a subject that is more in-depth than he had initially thought.
