A while before, the powerful and influential Toue Inc. purchased the island of Midorijima, Japan, together with the plans of constructing Platinum Jail–a lavish utopian facility. People that are fortunate enough to call it home would be the wealthiest citizens on earth. The first inhabitants of this island, however, were made to relocate into the Old Residential District; and following the conclusion of Platinum Jailthey had been completely abandoned.”Rib” and”Rhyme” would be the most frequent games played around the island. Rib is a old school sport where gangs engage in turf wars from one another, although Rhyme is a technologically complex game wherein participants struggle in a virtual reality. Aoba Seragaki does not have any interest in playing game; he wants to live a calm life with his grandma and All-Mate, Ren. But after becoming forcefully dragged to a dangerous Rhyme game and hearing rumors of evaporating Rib gamers, all Aoba’s hopes of living a regular life are completely obliterated.
