In Hokkaido, the far northern lands of Japan, Sugimoto endured the Russo-Japanese warfare of the Meiji era. Nicknamed”Sugimoto the Immortal” throughout the war, he seeks the wealth promised from the gold rush in hopes of rescuing the widowed spouse of the now deceased comrade from the warfare. Throughout his search of gold,” he discovers traces of a hidden stash of gold from corrupt offenders. Partnering with an Ainu woman that saves his life out of the harsh climates of the norththey venture into a survival experience to race against the offenders which search the hidden stash.
