A young Japanese woman, Chizuru Yukimura, is on the lookout for her father Koudou. He’s a doctor who often travels far from home. Chizuru pretends to be a man, and she sets off for Kyoto to find him. She attracts the attention of the ronin and tries to hide. But she ends up witnessing the horrifying sight of the ronin being brutally killed by white-haired men. The Shinsengumi members arrive to kill the creatures in a shocking turn of events. Chizuru is not safe for long. A group of men tie Chizuru up and bring her back to their headquarters. They aren’t sure if they will let her live or keep her silenced forever.
The Shinsengumi, however, decide to keep Chizuru safe once she discloses the name of her father. They too have been looking for him. However, Koudou has a deeper connection to the Shinsengumi, and Chizuru soon finds herself in conflict with the Shinsengumi’s enemies and political tension in Kyoto.
