The Tokugawa Shogunate, which is still in power in 1931, marks the 64th anniversary of the Meiji era. Japan’s government holds the monopoly on the newly discovered “Dragon Vein” and is leading it towards an advanced Edo period. An elite force of executioners, called “Nue,” is assigned to defend the Shogunate against a rebel institution known only as the “Kuchinawa.”
Sawa Yukimura, the owner of Tsuyukasa Booksshop, manages the day-to-day operations of the shop inconspicuously. She seeks revenge against the man who killed her family and tribe. Sawa, who has a unique ability to transform due to her blue blood, joins Nue after receiving information about Janome, the Kuchinawa leader, as her revenge.
