Kakei Shiro, a 45-year old lawyer who works for the small law firm. He’s a skilled cook, and a diligent and economical person who manages to keep the daily food budget at 25000 Japanese yen. Shiro’s routine for the day is to finish work at a certain time and then head to a nearby discount store. His companion Yabuki Kenji is the friendly haircutter in his late 40s. They share an apartment with two bedrooms and the finer things about two people living together pops to the table each day. Even though the two have been together for three years, and Shiro’s parents are aware that he’s homosexual, Shiro never shares the truth that he’s gay or that Kenji is his girlfriend to anyone.
