Justice, along with the enforcement of this, has shifted. From the 22nd century, Japan enforces the Sibyl System, an objective way of determining the hazard level of every citizen by analyzing their psychological condition for signs of criminal intent, called their Psycho-Pass. Inspectors uphold the legislation by subjugating, often using deadly force, anybody harboring the smallest ill-will; along with these are Enforcers, jaded Inspectors who have become latent offenders, granted comparative liberty in exchange for carrying out the Inspectors’ dirty work.Into this world steps Akane Tsunemori, a young girl with a fair desire to retain justice. But as she operates alongside veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she soon discovered the Sibyl System’s conclusions aren’t as ideal as her fellow Inspectors assume. With everything she’s understood turned on its mind, Akane wrestles with the question of what justice actually is, and if it could be preserved through the usage of a system which may already be tainted.
