The Case Study of Vanitas anime
Vanitas was once a vampire who was hated by his own species for being born under the blue full moon. Most vampires are born on the night of a red one. He was afraid and alone. He created the “Book of Vanitas”, a cursed grimoire to exact his revenge on all vampires.
Vanitas no Karte follows Noe. He is a young man who travels aboard an airship in Paris in 19th-century Paris with one goal: to find The Book of Vanitas. He is suddenly attacked by a vampire and meets Vanitas, an unknown doctor who specializes only in vampires but, to Noe’s delight, is a normal human. The name and text of the Vanitas legend have been passed to the mysterious doctor, who uses the grimoire for healing his patients. Behind his friendly demeanor is something more sinister.
