One fall evening in a mysterious ramen stand contrary to the Shimogamo Shrine, a lonely third-year school student bumps into a guy having an eggplant-shaped mind who calls himself a god of matrimony. Meeting this guy causes the pupil to reflect upon his previous couple of years in school –two decades bitterly spent attempting to split up couples with his only buddy Ozu, a ghoulish-looking man apparently set about making his life as miserable as possible.
