After Armageddon, an apocalyptic war, humanity faces still another menace: vampires. The constant confrontations between the races also have divided the world into different factions. The race of witches, Methuselah, are connected with the New Human Empire; whereas the people, deemed Terrans from the vampires, constitute the Vatican Papal State. What’s more, extremist groups such as the Rosenkreuz Order attempt to reestablish a war, regardless of the factions’ efforts to avoid direct conflict. Directed by Cardinal Caterina Sforza, the AX representatives investigate vampire-related interference with hopes the Terrans and the Methuselah will one day attain a peaceful coexistence. Amongst the AX unit is priest Abel Nightroad–a seemingly twisted but gentle-hearted fellow, along with a ferocious vampire slayer about the battle. Joining the device as his spouse is a new representative, Sister Esther Blanchett, a courageous and tender young nun bothered with a terrible past. As the two grow closer, they start to discover signs of malicious tactics and shadowy forces working at the shadows. However, the path they walk is teeming with hardship which may just force them to face the memories which plague their own hearts.
