From the 1960s, a talented young medical student attempts to generate a name for himself. Despite just being a medical student, his surgical genius begins to draw attention after he completes a seemingly hopeless surgery. Along with the lively and fair intern Maiko Okamoto and Yabu, a close buddy with a troubled life, Hazama frees himself into the area of medicine.However, his route to becoming a respectable surgeon is a tough one as student riots, war, and corruption are swallowing Japan. Hazama immediately finds himself caught up in a string of nefarious circumstances which challenge his integrity as a individual and his route towards becoming a surgeon.
